the bomb not dropped, tank parked, drone delayed,

land not pillaged, pollution contained, bribe not taken.

The rape not perpetrated, rage deflated,

gun unloaded, trigger stilled,

punch unthrown, fight discarded.

The finger not flipped,

criticism postponed, judgment withheld,

argument dropped, lie delayed.

The nag not barbed, scowl postponed

brag unspoken, point not made, slouch unslumped.

The eyes not rolled. 

Face unglazed.
